1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business on [09 May, 2005].
2. The Palestine liberation organization for the benefit of the Palestinian authority has received a grant from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development/International Development Association toward the cost of additional financing for the Tertiary Education Project -Subproject “Pre-service Science Teacher Education Project (PSTEP)at Birziet University and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this Grant to payments under the Contract for procurement of Science laboratories at participating institutions.
3. Birzeit University now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for:
Establishing Science laboratories at participating institutions (Birzeit, An Najah University and Al Quds University)
4. Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.
5. Qualifications requirements include: The bidder shall submit documents showing his financial capabilities; technical experience and a copy of legal registration documents from the Ministry of National Economy. A margin of preference for certain goods manufactured domestically shall not be applied. Additional details are provided in the Bidding Documents.
6. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee 100US Dollar from financial department at the university. The method of payment will be a cashier’s check or direct deposit to the project [9090/481583]. The Bidding Documents will be available at Birzeit University to the bidders at the address indicated below on Saturday and from Monday to Thursday at 9:00am to 3:00pm.
7. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before [Januray, 3rd 2012] at 12:00 noon. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend in person at [Januray, 3rd 2012]. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of 10,000US Dollar.
